Join us as we celebrate the Grand Opening of emPOWERment Park, a socially inclusive and sensory-integrated playground designed so everybody can play and everyone belongs!
emPOWERment Park
1124 Bell Street, Sacramento, CA 95825
Located at the corner of Irma Way off Bell Stree
The Special Education Advocacy PTA of SJUSD (SEPTA) is proud to support this exciting community celebration and will have a booth at the event. Stop by to meet members of our SEPTA, learn about our work, and find ways to connect with and support families of students with IEPs throughout San Juan Unified School District.
The celebration will feature community leaders and advocates, including Luc Taylor, a SEPTA member and SJUSD Special Education Community Advisory Committee (CAC) member, along with Sacramento County Supervisor Rich Desmond, SMUD Board Member Greg Fishman, and representatives from Mission Oaks Recreation & Park District.
emPOWERment Park features accessible play structures, integrated sensory experiences, a sensory water area, picnic and BBQ areas, community garden beds, accessible parking, shade structures, self-cleaning restrooms, and a Bankshot court. The first 200 attendees will also receive a free snow cone!
Parking is limited, so attendees who are able are encouraged to park at Greer Elementary School or Encina High School. Two shuttle vans will help transport attendees to the park, and an accessible drop-off area will be available for individuals using wheelchairs and others who need closer access.
Come celebrate inclusion, accessibility, community, and belonging with us! 💚
